To tell you the truth I’m not really sure what I’m doing. I’m not sure what this blog is quite about yet or why I’m even making it but I want to use social media to promote and support people who have dedicated their lives to amazing things. And I want to do it in a way that’s light and fun and makes you look at a picture and go hey I should go there too.

When I first started working at Chocolate Tree I got the job because I needed a restaurant job and it all just sort of fell into place. But after the six months I have worked there I have grown to appreciate the vision of Chocola Tree as more than just the food they serve.

I have grown to love the garden; how it changes with the seasons, sweltering in summer and humming with cicadas in the august afternoons. How when it rains the plants are so alive it’s as if they are talking to the dew drops and how in autuum the leaves fall in golden piles around the tables. It is so easy to forget how nice it is to simply be outside. Being at Chocola Tree gives you a chance to remember.

I’ve grown to appreciate the integrity with which they source their ingredients and the work that is put into their food which is made entirely in house. The raw desserts garnished with fresh mint that we pick in the garden and buckwheat waffles topped with mandalas of fruit and coconut creme. I’ve grown to love the vibrant salads and the communal library tucked in the corner of the lounge, spanning from raw food cookbooks to Rumi poetry and everything inbetween. You’re sure to get a Sedona experience complete with oracle cards, ariel silks and sacred cheese sauce (which I would actually highly recommend getting on a 2012 enchilada). As well as the chance to meet some of Sedona’s characters who have told me I’m from the pliaties and they can see my wings. But even if you decide to go on more of a whim you will get a nourishing delicious meal made by people who actually know where the food is coming from.
